【兵马俑：留住真彩两千年】 Terracotta Army: Preserving the True Colors Across Two Millennia

2024年是秦兵马俑考古发掘50周年。12月16日，兵马俑2号坑出土了正式发掘以来的第一尊将军俑。

The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the archaeological excavation of the Terracotta Army. On December 16th, the first general figurine was unearthed in Pit 2 of the Terracotta Army since the official excavation started.

你印象中的兵马俑“灰头土脸”？错！真实的它们鲜衣怒马、红衣绿裤粉脸。

Do you recall the Terracotta Army as being "dusty and colorless"? Wrong! In reality, they were vibrantly dressed, with red clothes, green trousers, and pink faces.

为什么2000多年前埋入地下之初的兵马俑是五颜六色的？为什么它们出土后会变得“灰头土脸”？

Why were the Terracotta Army figurines painted colorful when they were first buried underground over 2,000 years ago? And why did they become "dusty and colorless" after being unearthed?
